There are a number of these kinds of projects in development: European Sleeper and Night Jet are the main ones. All these plans are based on a rejection of the scorched-earth experience of budget air travel, and an acknowledgement of the enormous carbon foot-print of low cost flights across Europe.
There’s a huge gap between the high-end luxury overnight train and the budget end. I wish them all well.
